The Almshouse Arcade is a lovely, family-run independent business that's been around for over 40 years. It features 12 charming retail units managed by independent traders, from vintage clothing and records to crystals and gothic clothing. It’s a fantastic community space, and a hidden shopping gem in Chichester.

The Goal

I was asked to support Almshouse Arcade with developing a strong social media marketing strategy that showcased the heritage of the family-run business, as well as spotlighting the independent businesses located inside the arcade, and their position within the community of Chichester.

What I Did

I started the project by hosting a kick-off workshop with the Almshouse Arcade to deep-dive into what the project required, and the ‘why’ behind our work. This allowed me to create a strategy document, including our chosen content pillars and KPI’s, to refer back to during the process and ensure we could consistently measure success.

With a focus on Instagram and Facebook for brand awareness and community engagement, I spent time on-site capturing content of the various shops, vendors and products for posting, alongside high-quality, optimised captions.

The Results

At the end of our three-month campaign, we had reached 20,546 accounts (up by 148.6%) and gained 66 new followers (up by 5.9%)
