FOUNDER of
Glowtide Creative

Elly Hughes is a social media manager and content creator based in Southsea, Portsmouth, specialising in supporting small businesses and independent brands with showing up online in a way that feels true to them.

With over a decade of experience, both in-house and with agencies, Glowtide Creative is where all of that experience, plus a love of local, community and storytelling, comes together.

A day in the life - Glowtide edition!

The story of Glowtide Creative…

“I moved to Southsea in 2020, at the time I was working as an Area Sales and Marketing Manager for Youngs Pubs & Hotels (a role that will forever live in my heart as one of the best, and most rewarding experiences of my career), my entire existence was a beautiful whirlwind of food, drink, travel and premium hospitality.

After leaving the role to pursue a career closer to home, I decided that passion should spill into other areas of my life, and so, ‘Elly in Southsea’ was created - an Instagram account where I showcase the best places to eat, stay and play across Hampshire.

It started as a love letter to the city I was living in, and a way for me to meet new people, but it slowly grew into an opportunity to embrace my creativity, work with incredible brands, collaborate with the most fantastic creators, and develop a little business that allowed me to do everything I love.

Glowtide Creative is my way of being able to offer more services, more time, and more magic to current and potential clients, whether it’s adding some sparkle to their socials, increasing confidence through coaching, or captivating their audience with high-quality content.”

If you’re looking to work with a creator who genuinely cares, we would love to hear from you!

How we work

    • Small and independent businesses

    • Restaurants, cafés and bars

    • Hotels and accommodation

    • Local lifestyle brands and experiences

    • Ongoing social media management

    • Content creation (Reels, short-form video, photography)

    • Strategy and power hours

    • Influencer-style content and collaborations

    • Someone who “gets” hospitality and doesn’t need everything explained

    • Socials that feel like an extension of their real-life vibe

    • Consistency – both in posting and in how their brand shows up

    • Ideas for what to post that go beyond food photos and generic quotes

    • Someone who feels like a member of the team, not an illusive worker who they never see!

    • Open communication

    • A clear content plan so you always know what’s coming up

    • Flexible support that fits your capacity – not a one-size-fits-all package

    • Regular check-ins so we can tweak and improve as we go

    • I’ll always ask questions first so I understand your goals and non-negotiables

    • I’m happy to visit in person where possible – especially if you’re local

    • I care a lot about looking after your brand reputation and your team

    • I’m not aiming for “viral at any cost”; I’m aiming for the right people finding you

    • I’m here to make socials feel lighter for you, not add another stressful thing to your plate
